The Hungarian State Opera House in Budapest is presenting Giuseppe Verdi's opera "Macbeth" on February 22, 2025, at 6:30 PM.

Attending "Macbeth" at the Hungarian State Opera House provides a rich cultural experience, combining world-class opera with the opportunity to visit one of Budapest's most iconic architectural landmarks.

The opera in four acts, performed in Italian, with Hungarian, English, and Italian subtitles. The performance lasts approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes, including one intermission.

The story is based on Shakespeare's tragedy, Verdi's "Macbeth" follows the ambitious Scottish general Macbeth, who, driven by a prophecy and his wife's encouragement, murders King Duncan to seize the throne. His reign is plagued by guilt, paranoia, and further violence, leading to his eventual downfall.
